After the 13.1 – Day 1

Celebrating Thanksgiving, a day off, and a great run at the Magic Kingdom!

A day off during the week and a school holiday equates to an automatic day at the Magic Kingdom for me, my hubby, and my two oldest kiddos.  I was feeling fine the night of the race, but it was a different story after two hours of driving to Orlando.  I got out of the car and my left leg was so stiff.  Walking around was fine, but the usually easily traveled ramps and stairs were VERY difficult and painful to walk on.  I never noticed how many ramps and stairs there were at the Magic Kingdom TICKET CENTER and PARKING LOT!  Holy moley.  No, not “moley”.  I think “shiitake mushrooms” covers my pain.  All I have to say is that I am so glad that I packed a tennis ball and my tiger balm, and that I wore my neon green compression sleeves.  I didn’t care how I looked or smelled, but I stopped at Tom Sawyer Island, broke out the tennis ball and rolled and balmed out!

On the way out on the ferry boat, I was finally able to crack my back and my leg felt instantly better.  Even so, I rubbed more balm on my calves and sat on my tennis ball while I drove home, both cheeks!
